Scripture: "And some were persuaded by the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved."
Reflection: When Paul was witnessing to others, he experienced the mixture of responses by people he encountered. In the midst of this encounter the following verse said that the people "did not agree among themselves" (Acts 28:25 NKJV). He had gone on to quote Isaiah 6:9-10 when he said, "And seeing you will see, and not perceive" Acts 28:26b NKJV. If Paul faced opposition during evangelism, what should we expect? Those who had believed may have even been discouraged by the people around them.
Application: Knowing how the Apostle Paul faced a mixture of responses and people disagreeing about the message of the Gospel, it is an encouragement to know that we can be prepared in advance that people may not be unanimously receptive to the message of Good News. Take heart, for the changing of the heart is God's work. Your mission is to share the message.
